MFA asks for a second proof of identity, usually a code or approval on your phone, in addition to your password. It blocks most account takeovers.

1. Install an authenticator app on your phone, for example Microsoft Authenticator.
2. Sign in to your account and open the security or security info settings.
3. Choose to add a sign-in method and select the authenticator app.
4. Scan the QR code shown on screen and enter the code to confirm.
